Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the 2010-2011 Season of FSYO! OPEN SEAT auditions will be held Saturday, August 21st. Each student auditioning is required to read the instructions and complete and mail the application and $35 audition fee before an audition time is assigned. Once an audition time has been assigned, you will receive a letter with the time and location for your audition. Click here to view the list of open seats.

Audition Requirements: Each student is required to prepare the assigned excerpts and scales for the instrument and orchestra they are auditioning. The student may be required to perform a one-minute solo of his/her choice, depending on the instrument and orchestra choice. Please pay close attention to the instructions on the orchestral excerpts, as they will specify if a solo is required.
Special note: String players auditioning for the Prelude Orchestra are required to play the written bowings. Fingerings are at the discretion of the student/teacher, but the bowings are non-negotiable.
Scale Requirements: All scales and arpeggios are to be MEMORIZED. Scales and arpeggios will be played in even eighth notes. String players use separate bows. All instruments will play one of the following major scales and arpeggios:
Percussion: FSYO has a rotating percussion section. This section plays with all three orchestras and rotates instruments. For percussion audition music, click here. Students will audition on timpani, xylophone and snare drum. Instruments will be provided at the audition site.
