Roy Liu

Roy Liu HeadshotOperations Coordinator

(He/Him)

Roy Liu is a musician and educator who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music with an Outside Field in Education from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Originally from Brooksville, Florida, he grew up speaking Mandarin and was raised in a Taiwanese household. He began studying violin at age 5 and picked up the trombone at 10.

At Stetson, Roy performed in ensembles including the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Hatter Choir, and Concert Choir. He held leadership roles as President of both the Florida Alpha Colony of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Stetson Club Pickleball, where he organized events, led practices, and built partnerships on and off campus. He also served as an Assistant Coordinator for Stetson’s freshman orientation program, helping lead the onboarding of over 850 new students and supporting a large team of student leaders.

Roy has taught private lessons to middle and high school students and interned with the Florida Marching Band Championships, assisting with logistics for large-scale events. With a mix of performance, teaching, and organizational experience, he’s focused on building a career in music and arts leadership.
